Lock your stuff! Empty Lock your stuff!

Hi all,

The biggest advantages to a settlement are less decay and enforced laws.

Less decay speaks for itself but for laws we have guards who will attack anyone (even us) who breaks the laws we have set for the vilage.

Our citizens (basically all of us except the new guy) have most of the basic permissions but from now on we will occasionally welcome new visitors. I have made a special rank for them (villagers) with very restricted permissions so we can safely invite someone over without having to worry about our stuff.

However, to be absolutely on the safe side of things, I would like to remind you about LOCKS! Put a lock on your door and add permissions (for instance, mine is set so that every citizen can enter the workshop but villagers cannot). You can do the same for chests (although they need a padlock).

It is a nice system. For padlocks you get a key which you can copy and give to trusted friends.

I would recommend at the very least putting a lock on your door and set that to only allow citizens (unless you want to keep your area totally private).

You can play around with these settings. For instance, I will be putting chests in the workshop that will allow anyone to put basic resources (skins, hides, cotton, cloth) in to it but not allow people to take from it. Of course, if other crafters need cloth, hides etc, I will add them to the people allowed to take stuff from them.

And remember: locks are never perfectly safe. They can be picked!!
